Fars Heart Foundation (Kowsar Hospital) Biennial Conference Report
History and Objectives of the Conference
Fars Heart Foundation (Kowsar Hospital) was founded twenty four years ago with the help of the Almighty God, and the efforts and generosity of a number of benevolent people who were enthralled with the love of God and had dedicated themselves to serving human beings.
The Fars Heart Foundation Board of Trustees has endeavored to promote education and enhance the scientific level of the medical community and other people. To achieve this goal, despite all the difficulties and limitations, it has approved seven conferences on ‘updates on cardiovascular diseases’ since Kowsar hospital was established, and has closely cooperated and sympathized with those involved in the execution of these conferences.
The conference, which comprises executive and scientific committees, was initially held annually but continued to be held biennially due to financial limitations. All the activities are organized and held in the secretariat of the conference such that after the call for the conference, domestic and foreign papers submitted by professors and/or researchers are sent to the scientific committee to be reviewed, and the selected articles are then announced to be presented in the academic halls of the conference and published in the conference proceedings.
The main theme of the conference is “updates on cardiovascular diseases” and a number of foreign organizations and associations often announce their scientific support for the conference which is organized by the representatives of these associations, the majority of whom are Iranian professors residing abroad. With the participation of these associations, the conference is registered as an international event with a high scientific level.
In each conference, three pioneers in medicine and three pioneers of nursing are honored to keep abreast of the name of those who have devoted their fruitful life to the spread of science, love, and knowledge.
In addition, in all conferences, multiple workshops and panels are held along with the conference halls (main sessions) where prominent professors present recent advances in cardio research. Also, medical and pharmaceutical companies introduce their latest drugs and medical devices in exhibitions held alongside the academic halls.
In the end, a list of the participants is sent to the office of continuing education and center of excellence for medical sciences (center of excellence in medicine) for allocation of credit.
